Cardboard Chair
Senior year, we were instructed to design and construct a cardboard chair. We were free to do whatever we wanted, except that it had to be within certain parameters and that we could only use cardboard and glue. For my design I wanted to keep it simple, so i decided to have a sturdy, well-cut. and sleek design. It took me about 12 hours to make and required lots and lots of cutting with a box cutter. The chair also had to be ergonomic and be able to support 200 pounds. We then created a brochure to inform and sell people our design, as well as to explain the story behind our chair. |

Tiny House Model
Junior year, we were given the task to design a tiny house and make a model based on our AutoCAD drawings (See Design page). For the model the parameters were to keep the square footage within 200 square feet and we had to base the dimensions of that of a trailer bed. We also had to incorporate three materials into our design so I used foam core for the frame , popsicle sticks for the exterior , and foam for the roof. I worked on it for about six hours and we also created a brochure to go along with it. |
Jax Plaza ModelThis is a part of the Jax Plaza project. My team members and I used the drawings we created to assemble this model. It is a five story model and has contours of the landing and elevation. It took many hours to create, but it came out great and really shows what we were trying to portray with our design for the Jax Plaza.

Daniel John Stine's Design ModelTo portray Daniel Stine's Design, we created a model that shows the geography of the land and added greenery to represent what it might look like in real life. I used cardboard to assemble the model. For the base, I stacked multiple pieces of cardboard upon one another, based on the topography of the land. The model house was assembled by many different pieces. I used the drawings to get the proportions right on the model and cut out specific pieces of cardboard that would assemble to create the final piece.

Birdhouse Model
Freshman year, my partner and I were given the task to create a birdhouse with very little guidelines. We were given measurements to not surpass, but other than that, we could design it however we wanted. Instead of going with a regular birdhouse design, we wanted to make something unique and eye catching. My partner thought of the idea of making it diamond shaped. We drew some sketches and reached a decision on how we would make it and created it out of wood. We worked a solid 3-4 hours on it and we were very pleased with the outcome. To add even more design, we spray painted a teal color and used a silver sharpie to draw lines on it; giving it that diamond feel.
